Director, Head Coach
Olivia Pollard
Passionate about helping humans and horses, Olivia has always been drawn to those in need of help.
" I strongly believe in trying to make a positive difference wherever I can, to whomever I can. Coaching is the best job in the world and watching my pupils change and grow, seeing how their horizons broaden and seeing how they take those lessons into a brighter future is the most incredible privilege. To be able to help the horses do their equine version alongside makes every day special and I can't wait to share it with you!"
Olivia is one of only 60 RIDE WITH YOUR MIND (RWYM) coaches in the world, runs one of only two biomechanics based riding schools in the country and has ridden for 46 years, using RWYM for nearly 30 of them and has been coaching for nearly 20 years.Olivia is DBS checked, holds a current First Aid certificate, holds NSPCC safe guarding certificates and has held a five star rated riding school licence from Cotswold District Council for the past ten years.

Joint inspiration and Trainee Coach
Jane Pearson
Qualifications: BA French & History of Art
PGCE French and Middle Years
Qualified Feuerstein Mediator
Trained Instructor with The Fitness League
Jane has always had a deep love of horses and has maintained a connection with them from the age of 11, when she first learnt to ride on her parents farm near Cheltenham. Jane has teaching experience, and has not only worked in schools but has also taught piano lessons and keep fit classes. Jane is the mother of four children, the youngest of whom has Downs Syndrome. Her experience of bringing up a child with special needs, and having one of her other children experiencing mental health issues, has given Jane the desire to fuse her experience and skills in a new direction. For the past 2 years she has been working with Olivia Pollard at Pioneer Equestrian, with the intention of becoming a Ride With Your Mind student coach, and then in addition to this, plans to study for a qualification in trauma counselling. Her goal is to become a qualified practitioner of equine facilitated learning and horse therapy.

Director
Ceri Watkins
Ceri is a former Registered Nurse with a life-long love of horses. It all started at an early age when she regularly badgered her parents for riding lessons. Eventually they gave in when she was ten.
Now, she uses positive reinforcement training, natural horsemanship methods and environmentally sensitive pasture management.

Her love of nature led to a Masters degree in entomology and an extraordinary fondness for beetles especially dung beetles. She also has four rescue dogs, a husband and a slightly neurotic rescue horse.
Ceri provides admin support, technical back up, a sounding board and lots of good advice and is primarily based at home as she has a life limiting condition.

Director
Susie Burn-Strange
As a person curious about a myriad of topics and how they interrelate I have gained extensive experience across a wide remit in the Art, Environmental, Education and Public Relations sectors.

Incorporating and integrating multi-disciplinary arts with other topics such as maths, science and ecology is a wonderful way to learn about ourselves and where we are as part of the natural world.

It is an honour to be in a position to facilitate and encourage others to grow in confidence, resilience and creativity whilst developing life skills and social skills.

I am an artist/painter; quaified fitness instructor, including children's yoga and movement to music; a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and I have a BSc in Environmental Science and and MSc in Advanced Taxonomy and Biodiversity.

Health and Safety Lead, Safeguarding
Daniel Filtness
"I am a horse enthusiast with a passion for equine welfare and therapy. I have been with Pioneer Equestrian Coaching for over 4 years where I have helped care for the horses and assisted with lessons, along with furthering my knowledge of our equine friends. My goal is to help others improve their mental health and knowledge through interactions with horses."
Daniel is also amazing at keeping on top of all the paperwork and all the myriad health and safety and safeguarding procedures and has done more courses and training than the rest of us can keep up with!
